DIY FLIRTY ACCESSORIES FOR SUMMER

Hey Fashionistas!

It's Maria here. This is 5vie's first DIY post. :)
Today I made a colorful jewelry set with beads I bought from the Creative Festival in Mississauga. I went with the other 5vie sisters and we all found some pretty neat things. Look forward for some more tutorials!

First I will show you the materials that I used:

I purchased that box in the second picture at Walmart and it contains a variety of items that are needed when making jewelry. As for the beads, mix up sizes and colors like I did to make it fun and flirty. Don't be afraid to be bold!

So here it goes:

1. Measure out the desired length of the strings (or wires) for your bracelets and necklace. ALWAYS leave an excess amount on both ends. I used the lighter to carefully and lightly burn the ends of the strings to prevent fraying. Please do this with caution.

2. Tie a knot at one of the ends of the string and start making up your pattern. This may lead to a lot of trials and errors but just keep trying until you love your result!

3. Loop the end of the string through the ring, then through the clasp and through the ring again.

Here is an example of what the looping should look like:

4. Tighten and make sure the ring is as close to the clasp as possible. Secure this by using the pliers and squeezing the ring and flattening it.

5. Do it to both ends and use the scissors to snip off the excess strings.

6. I added flowers to make it more fun, you can use ribbons, your favorite brooch… Use your imagination!

7. Voila! You are done. :)

Here is my finished product:
